The table's rules

These terms are the agreement between you and Palimpsest when you use the site or the Telegram bot. By playing, you accept them. The privacy policy says what we keep about you.

The game

Palimpsest is a work of fiction made as you play: an AI game master narrates, and its narration can be wrong, strange or inconsistent. Nothing it says is advice of any kind. Some campaigns deal with horror and violence; each says what it holds before you start.

Palimpsest is in beta and free while it is. If we ever charge for it, the price is shown before you pay, and these terms will say how paying works. We may change, pause or end any part of it.

Your account

You must be 16 or older. Keep your sign-in to yourself: what is done with your account is on you. You can delete it at any time from your account page.

Playing fair

Don't use Palimpsest to:

• break the law, or harm, harass or threaten anyone;
• make sexual content involving minors, or any content that is illegal;
• get around its limits, attack it, or run it with automated tools, except as it is meant to be played;
• pass off what the game master writes as a person's words, or as fact.

We may end a table, or an account, that breaks these rules.

What you write

What you write at the table stays yours. You let us keep it, use it to run your game, and read it to find and fix problems and to make the game better, as the privacy policy describes. The stories your table makes are yours to share.

No guarantees

Palimpsest is provided as it is, without warranties: it may be unavailable, lose a turn, or be wrong. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect loss, and our liability for anything else is limited to what you paid us in the last twelve months. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you as a consumer.

Changes and the law

When these terms change, we update them here and change the date at the top; a change that matters, we tell account holders by email first. They are governed by Spanish law. Questions go to privacy@palimpsest.gg.
